It's grandpa vs grandson this time. They might have 45 years between them, but they’re essentially the same motorcycle aimed at the same buyer. The real question is - have motorcycles gotten better or worse?

This was certainly one of your better videos. Would have been nice if you could have covered working on them and keeping them going, (even though that might not be applicable to new bikes and riders). Most riders may not be not interested in that these days. One clear example of this is that you have to remove the f'ing muffler on some of the triumphs now to adjust the drive chain and even then they and many other bikes do not have a centre stand. One thing is for sure though, bikes were certainly more affordable in days gone by and that is a large part of the reason people are not riding them now.

I owned a CB360T picked it up new. My previous bike was a race prepped 750 Rocket three BSA .in one year and 14000 miles the Honda was beat to a soggy mess. It got lots of oil changes but the rings were shot. It had been wide open throttle all the time. The suspension was also trashed.

Shout out to my home town Vancouver for FortNine to shoot Ryan's piece. Loved it, the language and the engineering and his final conclusion. Honda should get back to SOME of the basics, let's hope they're paying attention. Gotta admit to some bias, I buy almost all my stuff from FortNine because of their great service and inventory selection.

Good comparison and, it's not just the bikes. It's us. I was intimate with my first bike because I did literally everything to it. Gave me an appreciation of it's limits. But, I grew up and it didn't. Wish I still had it. And, the next bike after that. Now, I spend more, but the bikes are worth more. Their limits are going up but 50 years later my limits are going down.

Good one -- I think the idea that the cheap motorbike is the prohibitive factor for new riders is only half the story. The equipment + permit price is also considerable. here in france you need to be super motivated and have the funds to become a motorcyclist. The training and liscence alone is 1500 Euro (the same applies for car liscence) and takes place over 2months mainly with private school /training space and finishing with 2 practical tests (120 euro each from memory) carried out by the government tester, an obstacle course and a road test - it is a pretty tough test where a failure will mean waiting for another slot to redo with delay of 1 week to 2 months There are lots of options for smaller bikes new + 2nd hand market is very reasonable for smaller engines as the initial rider permit is limited to 45kw for first 2 years and then riders want to move onto bigger engines after they move out of the probation period. In the new market there are very cheap bikes from massai and asian suppliers.

That's interceptor 650 and continental GT 650 for you. Nice , simple easy going machines which costs waaay lesser than their counterparts from Triumph , Harley etc. The way they are selling right now gives a clear picture regarding the bike people need.

I was never a fan of the Hondas of old till resently, mainly due to the but ugly looks of the modern equivalents, a personal choice I know but does anyone else think the modern one looks, well, cheap, though I know they're not nothing is these day's. Hell a mate just bought a 500cc yamaha scooter for £11,000.

This was once again a great video, although I do not think that for the extra money you pay now you get more expensive goody's Led headlights is about the same to make, and a LCD dash is cheaper EFI v.s. carbs? maybe a bit more. but you get a engine with a cylinder less, and chrome vs plastic.

I had the CB250G5 version of the 360 back in 1979, it was a 1973 bike and I loved it. In the rain you kept the front brake on very slightly to keep it dry or there was a delay in operation.

This was an excellent video. As an older guy with several vintage CBs under my belt, the question I have is simply: Which is more fun? Keep in mind there's quite a bit of fairly cheap upgrades that can be made to an older CB twin to really improve it from stock as well.

They were also much fun. A friend of mine has a 70's Moto Morini 350, relatively comparable to today's Ducati Scrambler 400, being both V2s. They first one has 23 footpound at 5900 rpm the latter doesn't reach 25 footpound before 7.750 rpm.

Can you do the CB300 that looks like the CB360T, incl. the 2 cylinder engine and the weight at around 150 kg? That would be the one I'd buy. Not the thing that looks like someone smashed a window to the floor and then used the shards to dress up the CB300.

Honda CB360T: 34HP @ 9,000rpm Honda CB300R: 31BHP @ 8,500rpm & 27.5Nm @ 7,500rpm With 288cc the modern one has a smaller engine too (but adds liquid cooling) BHP are not the same as US HP or old German DIN HP - all different. How much wheel HP did each have? That would reveal transmission efficiency differences. Yes, make it for 3K currency. The new one has a lot of "bells & whistles" but lest not forget the old mechanical ones would be more expensive today and a mechanical complexity is taken away from the modern bike in that.

Also, I was at a huge bike fundraiser not to long ago and there were Kawasaki's, Suzuki's, Yamaha's, a couple of BMWs and a handfull of Harleys... But basically no Hondas, there was an early 2000 fireblade and that was it... So if honda bikes doesnt own the streets, the motocross tracks, GP tracks or adventure trails anymore... What are they there for?????

yup I miss my CB250 G5 , I also has a CJ250T too , redesigned from the G5 to be a worse bike ! . there just wasnt that many 360T around . the CB400 was better . Also Stainless steel disk meant bad wet weather braking in the UK. Mind you if you think the Honda's rear drum brake was bad then compare it with the Suzuki GT250 cable connected rear drum brake ..... uhhhh ... yah brakes these days are much better

This is a wrong comparision U should compare cb360t with honda highness cb350 launched a week ago in india by honda Features A lot of chrome LED head light and indicators Power- 21PS at 5000 rpm Weight-181kg Dual ABS ,big tyres , bigger disk ( bigger than royal Enfield) Traction control / torque control Just have a look at it , it looks beautiful

I bought an old 1981? CB 650. 4 cylinders, 4 carbs, my first bike years ago. That thing was an absolute rocket light to light, not a mustang nor vett would have a chance. But the lungs failed after 55 mph. Fast forward 40 years and computer controlled fuel injection and slick valve timing yadda yadda the new bikes are way faster. But better... nah.
